"The raised demands on reliability regarding delivery time and the heterogenic project portfolio forced UHPT to improve its project management approach and introduce new tools to improve timing control on all projects. While the most complex projects do still get management by a dedicated project manager and project team, projects of low to mid complexity are now managed by a team of experts overviewing the complete project portfolio for one type of product such as valves, pumps or static equipment. Besides the implementation of a new team for project planning, - control and resource management at UHPT a multi-project management software was introduced. The new software tool allows process oriented project management including an enterprise resource- and portfolio management and enables the order control department to align the complete project portfolio at UHPT with the available resources. In addition to that, a manufacturing execution system was implemented to improve the planning and scheduling in the fabrication department. By the above measures, the project management at UHPT got more efficient and the project schedules are now aligned with the available resources and continuously monitored by a dedicated team. "
